What is a Key Fob?
A key fob is a remote device that enables you to control your car doors lock/unlock, and some cars can also open/close the car windows and the trunk, and some cars can even start the car engine. With a key fob, you can get into your car without using an actual key. It uses radio frequencies to communicate with your car and control it. When you press the button key fob, it transmits an RFID signal to the reader device. If the information transmitted matches what the reader accepts, the system will open the car door.
A good thing about a key fob is that it is unique to your car. No one else’s key fob will work with your car and your key fob will not give access to another person’s car. Every fob operates on its own unique code, which is good for security. They are also incredibly fast and easy when it comes to opening your car door.
